The Classic Martini | |
| Just have the vermouth blow a kiss at the gin/vodka, and of course, stirred not shaken! 1. Chill the martini glass with iced water 2. Fill a glass shaker ¾ with ice, add a dash of dry vermouth, lightly stir to coat sides of the glass shaker and ice 3. Strain the dry vermouth 4. Pour gin or vodka in a spiral motion to coat the stained ice 5. Stir gently in a lifting motion atleast 15 times counter clockwise, carefully not to bruise 6. Completely drain ice water from the martini glass and shake dry 7. Gently pour cocktail into chilled martini glass using a strainer 8. Either drop one chilled queen olive (no sword) into the cocktail or rim lip of the martini glass with rind of lemon peel, twist, and drop into the cocktail For a wet martini partially strain the dry vermouth and for a dirty martini stir in olive juice (not olive brine) to your taste with the gin or vodka |
