Combine 1 to 2 bar spoons of extra fine sugar, 4 to 5 dashes of bitters and a few drops of club soda 3. Using the bar spoon create a paste 4. Hold the glass horizontally and turn to thoroughly coat the inside of the glass 5. Drop in an orange slice and a maraschino cherry (stem removed) on the bottom of the coated glass 6. Muddle the fruit well 7. Pack the glass with chipped ice 8. Pour the bourbon straight down the middle of the glass 9. Garnish with an orange wedge and cherry The cocktail is best sipped through a cocktail straw and should not be stirred. Tips: If your paste is too wet to coat the inside of the glass add a pinch of sugar, to dry just add a few drops of club soda. Use the back of a spoon if you don't have a muddler. |
